We’ve been running a ton events on campuses all around the Western US lately. One of the things we try to do at these events is help students sign up for the variety of Microsoft accounts available to them. In an effort to streamline this process, I have recorded a video that walks through the sign up process for each of the following accounts:
If you know me, or were a reader of my previous blog (blogs.netconnex.com), you know that I have made my living off of Microsoft’s products. In fact, I have been doing that for over two decades. It has always been a goal of mine to eventually work at Microsoft, and I am proud to say that has finally happened. On January 3rd, 2012, I started a new job with Microsoft as a Developer Evangelist for Southern California. Oh Yeah!
As a Developer Evangelist I get to spread the enthusiasm that I have for Microsoft’s products and technologies to other developers. I have really been doing this all along throughout my career. Now, I just get paid to do it! Initially, I’ll be focusing on the Azure family of cloud services, but don’t let that stop you from asking me about other Microsoft products, technologies, APIs, languages, or whatever! If I can’t help you with something, I can find somebody who can!
Along with my new job, I am starting a new blog (bretstateham.com). The reason for that was two fold:
My old blog was on Blogger, and I wanted to move to WordPress. This was a good opportunity to do that.
My old blog was tied to my own training and consulting company, Net Connex. In my new role at Microsoft, I wanted a blog that wasn’t so tied to my personal company name.
I will keep my old blog in tact, and will in fact possibly continue to use it from time to time for posts specific to Net Connex (my company).
If you were a subscriber to my old blog, and liked the content, subscribe to my new blog as well. As a Developer Evangelist, I am tasked with blogging much more frequently than I have in the past, and I’ll have a ton of great new content and resources to share with you. I hope you come along for the ride!
And make sure to drop me a note if I can help you out!
